*Current job update: still seeking re-employment in the animation biz...* 1/28/2010 Now that I'm working with the US Census, as well as keeping up with my fast food management, I find myself back in the world of working 7 days a week. It is not the first time. Back in the 70s I had to work two jobs to make ends meet for awhile. It was tough... but I got through it. For a bit. First there was the time that Disneyland could not give me a 40 hour week. So I got a job as a local toy store. Worked as a character 3 days a week, and at the toy store 4 days a week. Was rugged. Both were quite physical. I was able to get back to a 5 day workweek when I switched over to the Disney Archives. I eventually left the archives. Shortly after my departure, I re-applied at Disneyland to be a character again on weekends. (You could not work at two Disney companies at the same time.) DL agreed. So now I was working 7 days again. 5 days as an office manager; 2 days as a character. Again, it was rugged. I only was able to handle it around 4 months. Disneyland had changed enough that the park was not as fun. Also, a bit older, I found the 7 day shift really wore me out. Now I'm back pullin' 7. Again, it will not last long as the census job will probably run it course before Summer. Hopefully before then I will have gotten back into the animation biz. Or at least get more hours from Mcjob.
