IN THE DOG HOUSE
Original Pitch by John Cawley – December 9, 2003

BEHIND THE STORY...
This was a quickie pitch. I had been asked to come pitch some ideas and wanted to add one or two new ones. The idea of a secret society of animals is not new, but I thought this take, of them trying to exist in our world, and the boy who discovers and later helps them was a nice twist. The pitch went well, but the studio felt that “talking dogs” were done to death.

And now my pitch...

IN THE DOG HOUSE
A boy discovers a secret canine world underground
An Animated Sseries Proposal by John Cawley

One night a boy notices his neighbor's doghouse gets lots of visitors... all who go in, but do not come out! The next day, while chasing his remote control plane, the boy crawls into the doghouse and the floor drops out into a slide. He lands in a secret underground world of dogs and discovers his neighbor is really a wolf in trench coat and hat. The doghouse world is like a huge mansion with game rooms, eating rooms, plotting rooms, schoolrooms and more. At first, the boy is considered a threat to the secret society. However, the dogs soon realize a human member could be a big assist in dealing with the upper world.
